RipNova Disclaimers

Trademarks, prices, grading estimates and other things to know.

Effective October 25, 2026Last updated October 25, 2026VelaVia LLC · Sacramento, CA

The short version

  • RipNova is a live collectibles app from VelaVia LLC for people 18 or older (or the age of majority where they live, if higher). Get the Android app only from the “Download for Android” button on velavia.io/ripnova/. It installs outside Google Play. A Google Play listing will follow, and an iPhone app is planned.
  • Values are estimates in US dollars, built from multiple marketplaces and recent sales. They are not appraisals, offers or advice. They can be wrong, and they are especially uncertain for watches, sneakers, coins, jewelry, comics, handbags and cars.
  • Rip packs and Boxes are for adults 18+. Each one’s odds are listed in the app under Settings › Odds & how packs work. Any opening can be worth less than the credits you spent. Play-credit pulls are free and never ship. A Nova Credit pull is a specific real item: sell it back within 24 hours for Nova Credits, or keep it and we acquire that exact item and ship it to you. Nova Credits are bought with real money in the in-app Shop. RipNova doesn’t pay out money.
  • Scans can misidentify items. Condition labels, grades and authentication are opinions, not guarantees.
  • Trades are agreements between members, and VelaVia is not a party to them unless the RipNova Terms say otherwise. Other members can see your profile, collection, reviews and activity; your toys and other items you add only if you show them. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. RipNova's meetup planner suggests public places, but RipNova doesn't attend or supervise meetups or check IDs.
  • RipNova is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Creatures or GAME FREAK. Pokémon and card names are trademarks of their respective owners. RipNova is not affiliated with Wizards of the Coast (Magic: The Gathering) or Konami (Yu-Gi-Oh!). Rolex, Nike, Air Jordan, The Royal Mint and the other brands shown are trademarks of their owners, who do not endorse RipNova.
  • This page forms part of the RipNova Terms. Once you accept them in the app, disputes go to individual arbitration and you waive class actions. You can opt out within 30 days.

This summary is for convenience. The full text below controls.

1. Who we are and what this page covers

RipNova is a collectibles app and website from VelaVia LLC (“VelaVia”, “we”, “us”), 2108 N St Ste N, Sacramento, CA 95816, USA.

This page explains what RipNova's information, estimates and software can and cannot do for you. It covers item values, scanning, grades and authentication, Rip packs and Boxes, trading and public activity, trademarks, outside links and warranties. It applies to the RipNova website and the RipNova app, however you got the app.

Please read it together with our other RipNova documents:

In these documents, “Collectibles” means trading cards (including graded slabs and sealed product), watches, sneakers, jewelry, comics, coins, cars, handbags and any other collectible items RipNova supports. When we add a category, we may publish terms specific to it, such as authentication or grading standards. Those terms apply alongside this page.

2. Using RipNova and getting the app

Who can use RipNova. RipNova is only for people who are 18 or older, or the age of majority where they live if that is higher. Buying Rip packs and Boxes has its own limits (Section 7). If we learn that an account belongs to someone under the required age, we will close it and handle its data as the Privacy Policy describes.

Getting the Android app. The Android app is a direct download from the “Download for Android” button on https://velavia.io/ripnova/. It is installed outside Google Play, so:

  • Install RipNova only from velavia.io. Copies from other websites, file-sharing services, email attachments, messages or other people may have been modified to include malware, even if they claim to come from us. We never send app files as email attachments or through messaging apps.
  • Android will ask for your permission. To install, you allow installs from the browser or file manager you used. That setting is your choice, and you may want to turn it off again afterward.
  • Keep the app up to date. Install updates only from velavia.io/ripnova/ or an official RipNova app-store listing. We may stop supporting older versions of the app, and we may require you to update before you can keep using RipNova.
  • Moving between sources. Android may refuse to replace a copy installed from velavia.io with a copy from an app store, or the reverse, unless you uninstall first. If Android reports a conflict, contact us at contact@velavia.io before uninstalling, and do not install from any other source.

App stores and iPhone. A Google Play listing will follow, and an iPhone app is planned. Once an official listing exists, you may also install RipNova from it. The app store's own terms then also apply, and Google and Apple do not endorse RipNova.

Permissions. The app asks for camera access so you can scan items and, if you choose, take your profile picture or photos of your items. You can refuse or withdraw it in your phone's settings, but scanning will not work without it. If you allow notifications, the app can send alerts to your phone; you can turn them off in Settings or in Android at any time. Meetups don't use your location: you type a ZIP code instead. The Privacy Policy explains each permission the app uses and why.

Your account and device. You can sign in with an email code or Google. Keep your device locked and your sign-in details private. Anyone who can use your unlocked phone may be able to use your account. If you think someone else is using your account, email contact@velavia.io. Before we act on a request to close an account, change it or delete its data, we may ask you to prove from inside the app that you control it. We may decline requests we cannot verify.

Keep your own records. Do not treat RipNova as your only record of your collection, purchases or trades. Keep your own receipts, photos and the original files you import.

Features change. We may add, change, limit or remove any feature, category, pack, Box or region, or suspend or end RipNova, as the RipNova Terms allow. Any statement about future features, releases (including the Google Play listing and the iPhone app), categories, fees, regions or timing states our current intent. It is not a promise. Do not buy, sell or make other decisions because you expect a feature to arrive.

Website examples. Cards, items, values, collection totals, odds and other screens shown on the website are examples. They may use sample or out-of-date data, and they are not live quotes or offers. The app lists each pack’s and Box’s odds under Settings › Odds & how packs work. Odds tables are not published on the website.

Scams. We will never ask for your payment details by email, text or chat. If anyone asks you to pay for RipNova, packs, Boxes or items outside the official Shop in the RipNova app, or claims to sell RipNova items for us, they are not acting for us. Please report them to contact@velavia.io.

3. Values are estimates, not appraisals or offers

How we estimate values. RipNova shows estimated values in US dollars, built from multiple marketplaces and recent sales. VelaVia does not set market prices, does not control how our market sources report them, and does not verify every figure. We use our sources under their terms, and we may change them at any time.

Where each card value comes from. Each card value shows where it comes from: a US market price in US dollars or, when there is no recent US market price, Cardmarket’s price in euros converted at the rate RipNova sees between the two markets (when there is no recent price from either market, a US asking price). Where both markets list the printing on its own, RipNova says whether they agree (within 1.5 times of each other, or within 25 cents) and how fresh the price is; a listing shared with another printing isn’t compared. A price alert whose move looks out of line (the second market doesn’t back it up, or, with one market, the jump is extreme) may wait for the next update, for up to a day and a half, before it notifies you.

Estimates can be wrong. Any value may be wrong, incomplete, delayed or stale. In particular:

  • Timing. An update can fail or a source can lag, so a value may be days old. Markets can move faster than our estimates.
  • Few sales. Some items rarely sell. An estimate may rest on very few sales, and one unusual sale can skew it.
  • Versions. One estimate may cover several versions of an item, such as different printings, editions, languages, references, sizes, colorways or years. Your exact item may be worth much more or much less.
  • Condition. Unless labeled otherwise, an estimate assumes a typical item in a stated condition (for cards, usually ungraded Near Mint). It does not reflect your item's actual condition, grade, completeness (such as box and papers), service history, autographs or other features. Condition-adjusted values are our own estimates, not market prices.
  • Costs. Estimates exclude shipping, insurance, platform and payment fees, and taxes.
  • Exchange rates. Where a market reports prices outside the US, our US dollar figure also depends on exchange rates and on differences between markets.

What an estimate is not. All of these are information only: any value, portfolio or collection total, value-over-time chart, cost basis, gain or loss figure, condition-adjusted value, price alert, value shown in a trade or wishlist, suggested balanced offer, and any odds or value shown for a Rip pack or Box. None of them is:

  • an appraisal, or a certification of condition, grade or authenticity
  • an offer by VelaVia or anyone else to buy or sell any item at that price. A sell-back offer exists only when the app presents it to you as an offer (Section 7).
  • a prediction of what any item will sell for
  • a statement of the “true” or “fair” value of any item

Do not use RipNova values for insurance claims, loans, tax filings, estate matters or legal proceedings, and do not present them to a buyer or trading partner as a statement of value. Your insurer or lender may require an independent appraisal.

Your own estimates. For toys, non-sport cards and the other items you add in Collection › Items (such as watches, sneakers, comics, coins, bags, jewelry, cars and sealed product), Your estimate is a number you enter yourself: your own estimate, not a market value. It is not a RipNova estimate, nobody checks it, and the app shows these items as having no market value yet. If you turn on Count my estimates in my total, your estimates are added to your collection total and labelled as yours, so that total is then partly your own figures. Everything above about the limits of values applies to it too.

Corrections. We aim to show when values were last updated. If you spot an error, email contact@velavia.io with the item, its details (such as set and number, or brand and reference) and what looks wrong. We review reports, but we cannot promise to change any figure.

4. Thin markets: watches, sneakers, coins, jewelry, comics, handbags and cars

Values for these categories are especially uncertain:

  • Few comparable items may sell, and prices can differ widely between dealers, auctions and private sales.
  • Value depends on details a photo or listing may not show, such as the model or reference number, year, size, materials, condition, service history, and original box, papers, tags or receipts. For coins, comics, diamonds and gemstones it also depends on the grade or certificate and who issued it. For cars it also depends on mileage, history, title and location.
  • Demand can shift quickly with fashion, releases, restocks, collector interest and wider economic conditions.
  • Counterfeits, replicas, altered items and misdescribed stones exist in all of these markets (Section 6).

Any value shown with a pack’s or Box’s odds that is built on these estimates carries the same uncertainty.

5. Scanning and identification

RipNova's scanner identifies items from your photos and returns an estimated value. It reads Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards by comparing your photo with reference card images from public card databases. For Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, you confirm each match before it is added. Recognizing a card is not authentication: a scan can’t tell whether a card is genuine or altered. The app may show how confident it is in a match and offer the closest alternatives. Scan photos are sent to RipNova's servers. The Privacy Policy explains how they are used, how long they are kept and which service providers process them.

Results can be wrong. We do not promise any level of accuracy, and a high confidence indicator does not mean a match is correct. Mistakes are more likely with:

  • glare, sleeves, toploaders, slabs and cases
  • poor lighting, blurry photos and damaged items
  • bulk and binder-page scans, where one wrong match is easy to miss
  • foreign-language printings, promos and regional variants
  • items that look nearly identical across sets, printings, references or years

Scanning needs an internet connection and our servers, and it may not work when either is unavailable. Imports from files can also match items incorrectly.

Before you rely on a scan or import for a value, trade, sale or record, check the details yourself. VelaVia is not responsible for losses caused by a misidentification you could reasonably have caught by checking.

6. Condition, grades and authentication are opinions

Condition labels. Labels such as NM (Near Mint), LP (Lightly Played), MP (Moderately Played), HP (Heavily Played) and DMG (Damaged) are informal hobby shorthand, not a standard everyone applies the same way. Other categories use other scales. A condition you record is your own estimate, and VelaVia does not check it. Condition-adjusted values are only as good as that choice. In trades, the member describing an item is responsible for describing it accurately, as the Community & Trading Guidelines (/ripnova/guidelines/) explain.

Grades. A grade from a grading company is that company's opinion under its own standards, which vary and change over time. A grade you enter yourself is your own statement. A certificate-number lookup shows only what the grader's records say. It does not prove that the slab in your hand is genuine, unaltered or the one the certificate was issued for. Counterfeit slabs and reused certificate numbers exist.

If RipNova shows an automated grade or condition estimate, it is a probability from our own model based only on your photos. It is not a grade, it will miss things a grader checks in hand, and no grading company issues, reviews or endorses it. Do not treat it as the expected result of a grading submission. The grading tracker records the submissions, fees and results you enter, and its figures on whether grading paid off are estimates. Whether you submit an item for grading, and what you pay, is your decision. VelaVia is not responsible for grading fees, shipping costs or the grade you receive.

Authentication. Where an item is authenticated, including an item we ship as a Nova Credit pull, authentication is the opinion of whoever examined it, based on the methods and records available at the time. It is not a guarantee that an item is genuine, original or unaltered. A certificate, tag, seal or report records only that opinion. Experts can disagree, and counterfeits and altered items can be hard to detect. Authentication does not set or confirm an item's value, condition or grade beyond what the examiner states. Brand owners such as Rolex, Nike and The Royal Mint are not involved in RipNova and do not authenticate items for us (Section 11).

If an item you received through RipNova is later found not to be genuine, your remedies are the ones set out in the RipNova Terms and the Rip Standard.

7. Rip packs and Boxes: odds and values

Who can open. Rip packs and Boxes are for adults 18 or older (or any higher age the law requires), and only where permitted by law. We may decline or cancel a purchase where we believe the buyer is not eligible, as the RipNova Terms describe. The app asks you to confirm your age; it does not check your location or ID before a purchase, so make sure opening packs is lawful where you are. We may ask for proof of age or identity, and we may limit access where the law requires. Rip packs and Boxes are offered in a version of the app distributed through an app store only if that store’s rules permit it.

Two kinds of credits. Play credits are free, have no cash value and can’t be sold, sent or withdrawn. Play-credit pulls never ship and can’t be traded. Nova Credits (100 Nova Credits = US$1) are bought in the in-app Shop. Buying them needs a signed-in account with a confirmed mobile number. Purchased Nova Credits don’t expire. Free Nova Credits, such as bonuses, are promotional, have no cash value and expire 30 days after they’re added. A purchase’s bonus credits are void if that purchase is refunded or charged back. The RipNova Terms (Section 12) set out the rules.

Where to find the odds. Each Rip pack’s and Box’s odds are listed in the app under Settings › Odds & how packs work, with each tier’s chance and value range. Check them before you open. Odds come from a published table with a version code. They are fixed and the same for everyone, and they don’t change as other members open packs. If a table changes between when you view a pack and when you confirm, the opening is refused and nothing is charged. The Rip Standard (/ripnova/rip-standard/) explains how odds are set and shown.

What the figures mean.

  • Odds describe the chance of receiving each tier or item. They are probabilities, not promises about any one opening or any series of openings. What other members pull, including pulls shown in the feed, tells you nothing about what your next opening will contain.
  • Values shown with the odds are built from our estimated values (Section 3). Market values can move after that, up or down. An opening can return an item worth less than the credits you spent.

After a Nova Credit pull. You can:

  • sell it back within 24 hours of the opening, for 90% of its value as locked at the pull, paid in Nova Credits; or
  • keep it and ask us to ship it. We then acquire that exact item, from the maker, a retailer or a marketplace, and ship it to you for a shipping fee based on the item. There is no free shipping. Most orders ship within 7 days; some take up to 3 weeks, depending on location and availability.

Sell-back is optional. RipNova does not pay out money: pulls, Nova Credits and play credits can’t be cashed out or withdrawn. A sell-back of a play-credit pull pays 100% of its shown value in play credits.

The RipNova Terms and the Rip Standard set out how sell-back works; the shipping fee, timing and risk of loss; the price lock and what happens if the exact item can’t be found; bonus credits and chargebacks; refunds; and what happens if an item is lost, damaged or found not to be genuine. Nothing on this page adds to or replaces those terms.

Not an investment. Rip packs and Boxes are a way to collect and to enjoy opening items. They are not investments or a way to earn money. VelaVia makes no promise about the value of any pull or any sell-back or resale amount, beyond what the RipNova Terms and the Rip Standard expressly commit to. Use the spend limits and breaks in the app, and spend only what you are comfortable spending on a hobby.

9. Collecting carries risk

RipNova treats Collectibles as hobby items, not investments. Portfolio values, cost basis, gain or loss figures, value-over-time charts and collection totals are tracking tools. They do not show investment performance, and they are not advice.

Before you spend money on Collectibles or trade them, understand these risks:

  • Values go down as well as up. Prices can fall sharply because of reprints, new releases, changing tastes, more items being graded, market sentiment or wider economic conditions.
  • Selling can be hard. There may be no buyer at your price, or at any price, and rare or expensive items can take a long time to sell.
  • Past prices do not predict future prices. A rising price history does not mean the price will keep rising.
  • Value is not guaranteed. RipNova does not promise that any item will gain value or hold its value.
  • Condition and authenticity are uncertain. Two copies of the same item can differ greatly in value, and even expert authentication can be wrong.
  • Costs reduce what you get back. Fees, shipping, insurance, grading, authentication and taxes all come out of any sale.

Buy Collectibles for enjoyment, and spend only what you are comfortable spending on a hobby.

10. Trading, reviews and public activity

Trades are between members. Members can send offers and counter-offers, chat within a trade, leave reviews, earn reputation badges and block other members. A trade is an agreement between the members involved. VelaVia is not a party to it, does not broker it, holds no cards or money for it, and does not ship, inspect, authenticate, insure or guarantee the items traded. This is separate from Nova Credit pulls, which VelaVia acquires and ships itself (Section 7). Pulls tagged RipNova (play-credit pulls) can’t be traded. A match or suggested offer is only a suggestion. It does not mean the other member is trustworthy, has the item, or will accept.

  • Confirming receipt. Where a trade asks both members to confirm receipt, an item moves to the other member's collection in the app only after both confirm. That is a record in the app. It does not by itself transfer legal ownership, or verify that items were sent, arrived or match their description. Confirm only after you have the items and have checked them.
  • Money outside RipNova. If members exchange money outside RipNova, they do so at their own risk, and nothing VelaVia provides covers that money.
  • Values in trades use the estimates described in Section 3. An offer shown as balanced is an estimate, not a promise that a trade is fair or that either side will hold its value.
  • Check before you commit. Confirm the exact item, version, condition and value yourself, keep your own records, and use tracked, insured shipping where it makes sense.
  • Problems. Report them to contact@velavia.io. We may review reports and act on accounts under the Community & Trading Guidelines. Unless the RipNova Terms say otherwise, we cannot recover items or money, or decide who is right in a dispute between members.

Reviews, badges and blocking. Reviews are members' own opinions, and we do not verify them. Reputation badges reflect activity recorded in RipNova under rules we publish. A badge is not identity verification, a background check or a guarantee of how a member will behave. Blocking stops a member from sending you offers or messages, but it may not hide everything about you, such as your public profile.

Messages are not private from VelaVia. Trade chat and reviews are stored on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted. VelaVia may read them for safety, to enforce our rules, to handle reports or for legal reasons. Do not share passwords, payment details or other sensitive information in messages. If you share a mailing address to ship a trade, share it only with your trading partner once the trade is accepted, and consider using a PO box.

What other members can see. Assume other members can see your handle, display name, profile, showcases, collection items, reviews and feed activity, and can find you through the items you own. Toys, non-sport cards and the other items you add are the exception: they are private unless you show them on your profile. If you turn on meetups, other members can see that you meet up to trade and your meetup record and, if they meet up too, a rough distance band between your ZIP areas, never your ZIP. Members you are matched with see your wants and haves, and they may see the maximum prices on your wishlist. Anyone with the link can see a shared wishlist. Your cost basis, prices paid, portfolio value and price alerts are designed to be visible only to you, but anyone who can see what you own can estimate what it is worth. The Privacy Policy lists which fields are public.

Keep personal details out of your handle, profile, showcases, messages and reviews. Showing what you own, or what you would pay, can attract unwanted attention. If you meet another member in person, choose a safe public place.

Meetups. The app's meetup planner lists card shops and suggests kinds of public places. A listed shop is not affiliated with RipNova unless it is marked Partner, and its hours are as listed on the date shown, so they may have changed. A distance band is a rough figure between ZIP areas, not a route or a travel time. RipNova doesn't check IDs, attend or supervise meetups, or check that a place is open, busy or safe, and a member's meetup record, reviews or badges don't show that they can be trusted. Meetups are only for members 18 and over, at busy public places, under Section 13 of the Community & Trading Guidelines (/ripnova/guidelines/). If something feels wrong, leave. In an emergency, call 911.

Alerts and notifications may be delayed, missed or triggered by bad data. Do not rely on them to time a purchase, sale or trade.

Other members' posts are theirs. VelaVia does not check everything members post, and a member's post is not a statement by VelaVia.

11. Trademarks and non-affiliation

RipNova is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Creatures or GAME FREAK. Pokémon and card names are trademarks of their respective owners.

RipNova is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Wizards of the Coast or Hasbro. Magic: The Gathering is a trademark of Wizards of the Coast LLC.

RipNova is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Konami. Yu-Gi-Oh! is a trademark of Konami or its licensors.

RipNova’s packs use RipNova’s own names and artwork, not those of any card publisher.

Rolex, Nike, Air Jordan, The Royal Mint and the other brands shown or named on the RipNova website or in the app are trademarks of their respective owners. RipNova and VelaVia LLC are not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Rolex, Nike, Jordan Brand, The Royal Mint or any of those other brands. Showing a brand's products, including as an item in a Rip pack or Box, does not mean the brand makes, sells, supplies or authenticates items for RipNova, or approves of RipNova.

LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse RipNova. Funko and Pop! are trademarks of Funko. POP MART and its characters are trademarks of their owners. RipNova isn't affiliated with any of these companies. The toy list in the app shows facts about their products, without their images or logos.

RipNova and VelaVia LLC are also not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by:

  • the publishers of any other trading card games, or sports leagues, players' associations and athletes whose names and likenesses appear on cards
  • watch, sneaker, jewelry, handbag, coin, comic, toy and car brands, publishers, manufacturers and mints
  • grading companies, authentication services, and gem and diamond laboratories
  • Google (including Android and Google Play) or Apple (including iPhone and the App Store). We name them only to describe where RipNova runs or will be offered.
  • marketplaces, retailers, other collection apps and data providers
  • any other company, brand, game, league, app, retailer, marketplace or service provider named on the site or in the app

All other names, logos and marks belong to their owners. We use them only to identify the products or services they refer to, and that use does not mean any owner approves of RipNova.

RipNova, VelaVia and their logos are marks of VelaVia LLC. You may not use them in a way that suggests we endorse you or your products, or to distribute copies or versions of the app. If you believe a mark is used improperly on our site or in the app, email contact@velavia.io with the details.

12. Images, artwork and your content

Images of Collectibles, card artwork and text, set symbols, logos and packaging belong to their publishers, manufacturers and artists. RipNova shows them only to help you identify items. Showing them gives neither you nor us any ownership of that artwork, and it does not mean the owner approves of RipNova.

Product photos. Unless a photo is labeled as a specific item, product photos on the site and in the app are representative images. In packs and Boxes, a product photo shows the item model, not the specific unit you would receive. Pack names and artwork are RipNova’s own. Sample values shown with them are examples, not current estimates.

You may not copy, resell or redistribute images, catalog data or values from RipNova, except as the RipNova Terms or the original source's license allow.

Your content. As between you and VelaVia, you keep whatever rights you have in what you add to RipNova, such as scan photos, your profile and showcases, collection and wishlist entries, toys and other items you add and their photos, custom cards, photos of your graded slabs, imported files, meetup plans, messages and reviews. Artwork, packaging and logos that appear in your photos remain their owners' property, and a photo may show them only incidentally, as part of the item you own (Community & Trading Guidelines, Section 25). The RipNova Terms explain the permission you give us to use your content to run RipNova, and the Privacy Policy explains how we handle it. Do not post content you do not have the right to share.

Copyright notices. If you believe content on RipNova infringes your copyright, send a notice to contact@velavia.io or to our postal address (Section 17). Your notice must include:

  • identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed
  • identification of the material you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it, such as a URL, a member's handle or where it appears in the app
  • your name, address, phone number and email address
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law
  • a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act for the owner
  • your physical or electronic signature

For other rights, such as trademarks, send the same details where they apply. When we receive a complete notice, we may remove or disable access to the material and, where practical, tell the member who posted it. If you believe we removed your content by mistake, reply to contact@velavia.io explaining why. We may suspend or close the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe others' rights.

We intend to register a designated copyright agent with the U.S. Copyright Office and name that agent here. Until then, send notices to contact@velavia.io or to our postal address.

14. No warranty and limits on liability

We work to keep RipNova accurate and useful, but we cannot promise perfection.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE RIPNOVA WEBSITE, THE RIPNOVA APP (HOWEVER DISTRIBUTED), RIPNOVA'S SERVERS, AND ALL INFORMATION, DATA, VALUES, ODDS FIGURES, MATCHES, SUGGESTIONS AND ESTIMATES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED IN THE RIPNOVA TERMS OR THE RIP STANDARD, VELAVIA DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND ACCURACY.

IN PARTICULAR, VELAVIA DOES NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • RIPNOVA WILL BE AVAILABLE, UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, OR WILL WORK ON YOUR DEVICE
  • DATA YOU STORE IN RIPNOVA WILL NEVER BE LOST
  • ANY VALUE, IDENTIFICATION, MATCH, GRADE OR ESTIMATE WILL BE CORRECT
  • ANY ITEM WILL GAIN OR HOLD VALUE, OR CAN BE RESOLD FOR ANY AMOUNT
  • ANY MEMBER WILL PERFORM A TRADE
  • ANY FUTURE FEATURE, CATEGORY, APP STORE LISTING OR PLATFORM WILL LAUNCH

VELAVIA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COPY OF THE APP OBTAINED FROM ANY SOURCE OTHER THAN THE “DOWNLOAD FOR ANDROID” BUTTON ON VELAVIA.IO/RIPNOVA/ OR AN OFFICIAL RIPNOVA APP-STORE LISTING, OR FOR HARM CAUSED BY INSTALLING SUCH A COPY.

Pulls you sell back or have shipped, and Nova Credits you buy, are covered by the warranties, remedies and limits in the RipNova Terms and the Rip Standard. NOTHING IN THIS SECTION LIMITS ANY EXPRESS COMMITMENT IN THE RIPNOVA TERMS, THE RIP STANDARD OR ANY RULES WE PUBLISH FOR A SPECIFIC PACK OR BOX.

Our liability is limited as set out in the RipNova Terms, and nothing on this page expands it. Those limits do not apply to fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury, or anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

Some places do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limits. If you live in one of those places, some of this section may not apply to you. You keep any rights under your local law that cannot be waived.

15. How this page fits with our other terms

Once you accept the RipNova Terms (/ripnova/terms/), this page is incorporated into them and forms part of them. If this page conflicts with the main body of the RipNova Terms, the main body controls. The RipNova Terms govern RipNova and, for RipNova, control over VelaVia's general website terms at velavia.io/terms.html. The RipNova Terms are governed by California law, as they explain. The Privacy Policy (/ripnova/privacy/) explains how we handle your data. You acknowledge it, but it is not a contract you sign.

The RipNova Terms also cover matters this page does not repeat, including:

  • eligibility and account rules
  • prohibited conduct and prohibited items
  • suspension and termination of accounts
  • your indemnity of VelaVia
  • our limitation of liability
  • play credits, Nova Credits, purchases, sell-back, shipping and refunds

IMPORTANT DISPUTE NOTICE. Dispute resolution is set out in the main body of the RipNova Terms, not on this page. Please read it. The RipNova Terms include an agreement to resolve disputes by binding individual arbitration instead of in court, and a waiver of class, collective and representative actions. That agreement applies once you have affirmatively accepted the RipNova Terms in the app, for example when you create an account. Small-claims cases are excluded, as the RipNova Terms explain.

Opting out. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days after you first accept RipNova Terms that contain the arbitration agreement. Email contact@velavia.io with the subject “RipNova Arbitration Opt-Out”, or write to our Sacramento address, with your name, your RipNova handle if you have one, and a statement that you opt out of arbitration. Accepting the RipNova Terms again later does not restart that window. If we later make a material change to the arbitration agreement, you will have 30 days to reject that change.

If any part of this page is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.

16. Changes to this page

The dates at the top of this page show when it took effect and when it was last updated. Because this page forms part of the RipNova Terms, we change it through the change process in the RipNova Terms. In summary:

  • Minor changes, such as corrections and clarifications, take effect when posted.
  • Material changes, such as changes that reduce your rights or add to your obligations, take effect no sooner than 30 days after we give notice, unless the law requires a change sooner. We decide in good faith whether a change is material.
  • We give notice on the site and in the app, and by email where we have a verified email address for you.
  • Changes apply only going forward.

This version applies from October 25, 2026. If you accepted an earlier version of this page, any material change in this version applies to you 30 days after we give notice, or sooner if you accept this version in the app. Older versions of the app may not show in-app notices, so we may require you to update the app and accept the current RipNova Terms before you can keep using RipNova.

If this summary differs from the change process in the RipNova Terms, the RipNova Terms control. If you do not agree with a change, stop using RipNova and uninstall the app. You can also ask us to close your account by writing to contact@velavia.io (Section 2 explains how we verify such requests).
