How is this different from GasBuddy?
GasBuddy shows pump prices and a card-based discount. It doesn't compute whether the cheaper station is worth the detour, it doesn't know your car's MPG, it doesn't know your time, and it can't stack non-GasBuddy rewards.
GasIQ shows you the true effective price after all of those, and recommends the station that actually keeps you the most money — even if that station has a higher pump price.
How does TruePrice™ work?
For every nearby station we compute: pump price + detour cost (extra miles × your MPG × current gas price) + your time cost (you tell us your hourly rate) − all stackable rewards (Shell, Exxon, BP, Costco, Upside, GasBuddy, your credit card, gig-driver perks).
The result is a single per-gallon number that represents what you'll actually pay. Lower TruePrice wins.
What gig platforms does Shift Mode support?
Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Uber Eats, Instacart, Amazon Flex, Walmart Spark, GoPuff, Shipt, Roadie — and any platform you drive for. Shift Mode is platform-agnostic: it tracks miles, fuel, time, and earnings; it doesn't need to integrate with each app.
Will GasIQ help me with taxes?
Yes. Pro auto-tracks miles in the background, separates business from personal, and shows you both numbers at year-end: the IRS standard mileage deduction (72.5¢/mile in 2026) and your actual fuel cost. Whichever is bigger is your deduction. Export tax-ready CSV/PDF for you or your CPA.
How accurate are the gas prices?
Every station price has a Price Confidence Score: how recently it was reported, how many users confirmed it, the station's historical reliability, and whether it came from a verified feed. If a price is stale or unreliable, you'll see a low-confidence flag — so you don't drive 5 miles to a price that doesn't exist.
Do I need to add my rewards manually?
For launch: yes — you tell GasIQ which programs you have (Shell, Exxon, Costco, Upside, your credit card, etc.) and the app calculates the best stack at every station. Auto-linking is on the roadmap, with the merchants that allow it.
Does GasIQ have ads?
Free tier shows light, clearly-labeled sponsored placements (only stations that match the same TruePrice criteria — never paid-for-placement that hides a better deal). Pro is ad-free.

Yes — 14-day free trial. If GasIQ Pro doesn't save you more than $7.99 in your first month, just cancel. We'd rather lose your subscription than your trust.
