Privacy Policy

The 1% (the “App”) is operated by Velavia (“we,” “us,” “our”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep data collection deliberately minimal — the App is a private members’ network, not an advertising business. We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect

2. How we use information
- To operate the network: authentication, your profile, connections, and messaging.
- To verify membership and unlock paid features.
- To keep the service secure — preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- To send service notifications you’ve enabled.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. How information is shared
- With other members: your profile is visible to verified members, and your messages are visible to the members you send them to.
- Service providers: our hosting and infrastructure providers process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Apple & Google: for Sign in with Apple / Google and purchase processing, under Apple’s and Google’s own privacy policies.
- Legal: where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of members and the service.
- We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
4. Data retention
We retain your account and content while your membership is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your profile, connections, and messages within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records for legal, security, or financial (purchase) purposes.
5. Your choices and rights
- Access & deletion: request a copy of your data or deletion of your account by emailing contact@velavia.io.
- Notifications: turn push notifications on or off in your device settings.
- Email privacy: use Apple’s Hide My Email at sign-in to avoid sharing your real address.
- Depending on where you live (e.g., the EEA/UK or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, port, or restrict processing of your data.
6. Security
We use HTTPS in transit, store authentication tokens only as salted hashes, and limit access to member data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you of material incidents as required by law.
7. Eligibility
The App is intended only for adults (18+). It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
8. International users
We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date and, where appropriate, in-app notice.
